The biomedical cluster in England's Northwest is a premier European biomedical location, with over 200 biomedical companies and over 450 including specialist supply chain. These companies employ over 26,000 staff and export in excess of £4B of pharmaceutical products annually.

The region is home to pharmaceutical giants, such as:
