Below is a list of the Life Sciences Tech Transfer and Commercialisation Organisations that are active in the Northwest:-

  • University of Central Lancashire has a range of support programmes to help current students, past graduates and newly formed businesses in eligible areas to help them start-up and grow their business.
  • Lancaster University's Business Enterprise Centre provides the technology transfer service. The role of the Business Enterprise Centre in this process is to optimise the benefits arising from exploitation for both the researchers and the University.
  • The University of Liverpool Business Gateway, helps commercial and public sector organisations access the cutting edge knowledge and expertise available from the University.
  • University of Liverpool MerseyBio Incubator exists to promote and support the transition of quality bioscience research into new business enterprises in Merseyside.
  • Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has a range of expertise, products, services and solutions to help business
  • The University of Manchester Incubator Company Limited (UMIC) is The University's Incubator Facilities Management, and external business mentoring commercialisation company. Facilities currently include Europe's first dedicated campus based Manchester Bioscience Incubator, The Core Technology Facility and the North Campus IT Incubator.
  • The University of Manchester Intellectual Property Limited (UMIP) is the university's technology transfer and intellectual property commercialisation company. It has been formed by the merger of two very successful companies, UMIST Ventures and Manchester Innovation.
  • Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) facilitates knowledge transfer through its business gateway.
  • The University of Salford's Academic Enterprise, along with the Campus Organisation, (the University's corporate and commercial club) offers technical and business expertise to industry and commerce.
  • TrusTECH is a partnership set up to help NHS Trusts to manage the outputs of publicly funded research to improve healthcare.
