NHS TrusTECH
TrusTECH, the North West NHS Innovation Hub is established to actively manage healthcare innovations and the associated Intellectual Property assets of the NHS in the North West and Wales. TrusTECH's activities also include sourcing innovations and IP solutions to NHS problems from industry. TrusTECH's areas of expertise include Diagnostics, Therapeutics, Medical Devices, Equipment, Software and Training and Education. TrusTECH, have operated and managed Medilink NW for the benefit of regional healthcare and medical device companies since January 2007.

Medilink NW
Medilink NW is a Medical Device and Healthcare Technology Network, which is part Medilink UK, a flourishing national network of regional healthcare organisations. The services offered by Medilink NW include the provision of consultancy and support for member companies, educational seminars on relevant topics, such as regulatory requirements, finance and research collaborations and the provision of a networking forum for the sector within the NW region.

NHS Technology Adoption Hub. The Healthcare Industries Task Force identified the need to establish Health Technology Adoption Hubs to improve the uptake of innovation by the NHS.  Launched in autumn 2007 the NHS Technology Adoption Hub, is co-located in Central Manchester with NHS Trustech and Medilink North West creating an environment where synergistic opportunities can be recognised and exploited for both commercial growth and improved patient care.

Institute of Health Sciences
The Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) promotes health sciences research and postgraduate education in Greater Manchester. The institute is a networked organisation made up of research groups within The University of Manchester in partnership with local NHS Trusts.

The University of Liverpool Cardiovascular Engineering Group, Division of Clinical Engineering
This group pioneered fabrication techniques for small diameter vascular implants. They are active in a number of research areas including haemodynamics, endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms, haemorheology and tissue engineering of blood vessel substitutes.

The UK Centre for Tissue Engineering
This dual location centre is a collaboration between the Department of Clinical Engineering at the University of Liverpool and the Schools of Biological Sciences and Medicine at the University of Manchester. A £10 million award from the UK National Research Council funds the centre. The centre's remit includes clinical research programmes in Skin/Wound Healing, and Vascular/Blood Vessel Replacement, as well as research into tissue engineering platform technologies and gene transfer. Advanced Medical Solutions
AMS is a leading provider of advanced woundcare products to the global market. New technologies are taken to market via major branded partners and AMS is also well placed to address the growing trend towards private label products in advanced woundcare through provision of own-label ranges to distribution partners. The Company sells direct into the NHS and seeks to deliver innovation through its branded partners and cost saving initiatives through its ActivHeal® value range. The company is continuing to invest in upgrading manufacturing equipment and clean room facilities to support future growth.

DePuy CMW
DePuy CMW specialises in the design and manufacture of orthopaedic acrylic cements, mixing and delivery systems and bone substitutes, supplying global orthopaedic markets. DePuy CMW, based in Blackpool, is a division of DePuy International and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

DxS
DxS is an established genotyping products and services company providing pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research companies with rapid and reliable pharmacogenetic analysis to support drug discovery, clinical development and personalised medicine. DxS operates from purpose built laboratories equipped with fully automated handling systems in Manchester.

Fresenius-Kabi Ltd
Fresenius-Kabi is the European leader in the field of nutrition and infusion therapy. In 1997 they invested £2.9 million in a distribution centre and state-of-the-art aseptic manufacturing unit in Runcorn, the largest in the UK, to accomodate their Total Parenteral Nutrition subsidiary Calea UK Limited in new larger cleanrooms within the new central Fresenius Kabi facility.

Jab Design
Jab Design provides a comprehensive product design and development service to the medical and healthcare sector working with a range of clients, from medical device manufacturers to University research groups, to achieve innovative solutions to new medical opportunities. JAB has also worked with nationally significant clients to develop highly innovative laboratory equipment.

MDI (Medical Device Innovations)
Focused exclusively on interventional medical devices MDI, based at the Daresbury Innovation Centre, aims to source, assess, finance and develop new technologies for commercialisation via partnerships with major healthcare companies.

Mi3
With manufacturing and cleanroom operations in Preston, Mi3 offers a complete plastics solution for disposable medical devices and specialist components for OEM instruments.

Platform Diagnostics
Platform Diagnostics is developing Capilliary Aggultination Technology with applications for digital, rapid, low-cost disgnostic tests to serve the point of care market. The company will licence the technology and provide support to allow companies to enter the market at low capital cost. Platform Diagnostics is based at the MerseyBio Incubator in Liverpool.

SHS International
SHS International, based in Liverpool, is part of the Clinical Division of Numico and specialises in nutrition to support metabolic disorders and food allergies (e.g ohenylketonuria, coeliac disease and crohn's disease). They also produce a range of supplements for patients with special energy requirements (the elderly and those with acute or chronic illness).

SSL International plc
SSL International plc is a manufacturer & distributor of a broad range of healthcare products sold into consumer markets worldwide, with their global HQ and manufacturing base in Cheshire. The company's product portfolio includes Durex and Scholl, both being market leading global brands. SSL are the second largest supplier of general woundcare and compression therapy products in the UK, woundcare comprising 20% of the company's global turnover of £705 million.

Synergy Healthcare (UK) Ltd
Synergy Healthcare (UK) Ltd is a leading provider of patient care services, including infection control, linen management, continence care and wound care. The company is also the UK's largest provider of decontamination and sterilisation services for hospitals and PCTs and a provider of wider surgical support services. Synergy Healthcare (UK) Ltd have a major Patient Care manufacturing facility based in Oldham.

Vernon-Carus
Vernon Carus are a market leader within the healthcare sectors of Infection Control, Surgical/Perioperative, Woundcare and Sterile Services Reprocessing. The company is a top 20 supplier to the NHS, produces more that 1700 lines of infection control and wound care products and exports to more than 50 countries. In 2005 they invested £10mio in a new HQ at Matrix Park, Chorley. The new facility also includes Assure Sterile Services the most up to date clean-room manufacturing facility in England.
