Renovo expands in Manchester

Biomedical product company Renovo Group is expanding its presence in Manchester, it has been announced.

Renovo, which specialises in scar prevention and reduction, will take a further 25,000 sq ft at The University of Manchester Incubator Company's core technology facility (CTF), while maintaining its premises at the Manchester Incubator building.

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is partly funding Renovo's additional space at the CTF, which provides space for companies that are commercialising biotechnology.

Linda Magee, head of Bionow, the NWDA's biomedical cluster programme, said: "Renovo is a beacon of achievement for the biotechnology sector for both the region and the UK.

"We are delighted to play our part in developing the infrastructure in the northwest region to both incubate and sustain companies of this calibre."

Renovo has said it wants to be the first company to market a scar prevention pharmaceutical drug in Europe and the US.
