NIBHI
The Northwest Institute for Bio-Health Informatics (NIBHI)
NIBHI has been formed as a collaborative venture between the Universities of Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster, Central Lancashire (UCLAN), Salford, the Liverpool John Moores University (JMU) and AstraZeneca. The central mission of NIBHI is to facilitate the application of Bio-Health Informatics theory into practice and to ensure that Bio-Health Informatics research is informed by the needs of the biological and clinical research communities and those of the regional pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector.
The Institute is a focal point for the co-ordination of Northwest Bio-Health Informatics research, development and training, facilitating collaborative activities within and between the academic, industrial and health communities.
NIBHI is funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the Department of Trade and Industry's Harnessing Genomics Programme (through a grant to the NWDA). These grants are directly managed by Bionow.
