Harrison Goddard Foote (HGF) has the largest team of specialist life science patent attorneys in the North West of England. The team consists of experienced long standing HGF attorneys as well as several recent lateral hires of senior biotechnology specialists from industry and other firms in private practice.

The North West pharmaceutical and life science practice is managed by Dr Andrew Wells, who heads up the Manchester Office and has expertise in the pharmaceutical and chemical sector – with several years of senior in-house experience at AstraZeneca) and Dr Paul Banford (who has specialised in representing North West life science businesses for over 16 years and has been part of the Bionow community since its inception). Other senior members of our team include Iain Armstrong (a specialist in regenerative medicine, wound healing and stem cell technologies), Dr Punita Shah and Dr Karen Russell (who both have a special interest in innovations in molecular biology) and Dr Mike Holmes (an expert in organic chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies). Dr Chris Benson is a further valuable member of our North West Team and supports the bioscience sector with protecting medical devices, instrumentation and computer/software related innovations.
