Innovations Technology Access Centre

I-TAC provides access to affordable, ready to use, high specification laboratory space to carry out research and development. In addition, more than £3 million of cutting edge equipment is available for high end laboratory sample preparation and analysis.

Supported by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC), we are ideally suited to start up companies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and research & development teams from established companies in the Biomedical, Chemical, Energy, Environment and Materials sectors.

Specialist equipment, available to rent on a hourly basis includes:
· the very first TM3000 Hitachi desktop SEM in Europe,
· XRD facilities;
· FT-IR spectrometer;
· UV-VIS spectrometer;
· Amino-acid analyser;
· HPLC;
· and a state of the art Protein Crystallography Suite

I-TAC has laboratory space available for short to long term tenants, ranging from your own “lock & leave” lab to a new concept, “Hotlabbing”, whereby you can rent bench space within an open laboratory to carry out your research.

Your research at I-TAC can be supported by some of STFCs highly skilled scientists working alongside you.
