TrusTECH® is an NHS organisation which acts as an Innovation Gateway for around 60 NHS trusts across the North West consisting of Primary Care Trusts, Acute Trusts and the NW Ambulance Service. The NHS in the NW region employs 180,000 staff and spends around £2.2 billion on goods and services each year.

TrusTECH’s remit as an Innovation Gateway covers the development and assessment of an entire range of goods and services used by the NHS. The key criteria are that they are technologies and services that TrusTECH considers innovative, and that they offer potential benefits to the NHS and our patients.

We offer two main services to innovators:

Market Research: If you need facts and figures to build a business case or you want access to the opinions of healthcare professionals on the clinical utility of your idea, TrusTECH can produce you with an NHS report assessing the market potential of your innovation. Prices for a Proof of Market Study, including the opinions of around 6 clinicians start from around £6,000 plus VAT.

Product Evaluations: Would you like your innovation to be evaluated by NHS staff in an NHS hospital or Primary Care setting? TrusTECH will project manage an objective clinical evaluation of your innovation, identifying a clinical team and guiding the project through ethical approval. We provide an NHS evidence base which you need convince healthcare professionals to use your product.

TrusTECH also offers access to a database of research active NHS clinicians and research resources across the North of England (ACTNoW) and can provide you with fully equipped laboratory space within walking distance of five major NHS hospitals.
