Get Ahead in MedTech

Get Ahead in MedTech is a tailored programme created and delivered by Bionow to enable medical technology SMEs to commercialise health-related products and services and fully realise their potential. Thanks to the support of STFC and our Delivery Partners we were able to offer the programme at no cost to participating companies, other than the time required to attend. The programme is aimed at senior executives, CEO, CTO, COO primarily, but some elements are also useful for managers and specialists who need to augment their knowledge and understanding. For this reason we were able to offer each participating company 2-3 places where needed for particular topics and of course the cohort of companies also benefit from the group discussions and thereby learn from each other’s experiences.

The programme underpins STFC’s investment in the Campus Technology Hub and laboratory facilities for biomedical companies onsite, and their ambition to grow a medtech cluster out of Sci-tech Daresbury. It is an integral part of STFC’s investment in technical capability for the medtech sector including additive manufacturing, 3D printing technologies, electron beam and more. The training modules, which are delivered by expert delivery partners, address the specific challenges with regard to developing and commercialising medical technologies.

The MedTech Accelerator is aimed at senior executives, CEO, CTO, COO primarily, but some elements are also useful for managers and specialists who need to augment their knowledge and understanding. The sessions span Health Economics, NHS considerations, Regulatory and IP strategies, Product Design and Financing.

Our commitment to the attending companies:

• A tailored, interactive program, covering specialist topics not available elsewhere
• A full set of course notes including presentations and supplementary material
 • The opportunity to benefit from PR associated with Case Studies

In agreeing to participate in the programme, companies must:

• Complete a business diagnostic with Bionow so that we can gauge the requirements of the cohort in general and the benefit gained over time
• Commit to attend the full programme of modules which run fortnightly
• Agree to case studies being used by STFC and Bionow to demonstrate the impact of the training and support provided
