An opportunity for an experienced Senior Molecular Biologist to join a leading organisation working at the forefront of molecular diagnostics.

SRG are working with a leading organisation at the forefront of molecular diagnostics who as a result of continuous success, are now looking to recruit a Group Lead to join their Product Development Department. This role will be based in the product development department providing technical and line leadership to teams developing applications utilizing molecular diagnostic technologies.

Role will involve:
• Providing mentorship and line leadership to a team of assay development scientists.
• Providing leadership in change management.
• Management and continuous improvement of product development process and laboratory infrastructure.
• Acting as a subject matter expert as an independent reviewer of development projects.
• Driving technical innovation within Assay Development.
• Line leadership experience (>7 direct reports) with a track record of driving delivery through active performance management.

• Extensive knowledge of qPCR assay development and/or NGS technology.
• Significant IVD diagnostic industry and/or academic post-doctoral experience desirable.
• Experience of leading change projects in medium-to-high complexity environments.
• Experience of resource and budget management.
• Experience of laboratory management and Lean implementation desirable.
• Organizational knowledge and proven successful usage of regulated quality process(e.g. design control) and completion of design-history files desirable.
• Eligibility to work in the UK

The successful Group Lead will ideally be PhD qualified or equivalent in a scientific discipline and must have appropriate skills together with underpinning knowledge. Previous experience in diagnostics within a GMP/ISO regulated environment would be highly advantageous.
