Advancing Medical Technology in the Atlantic Area

As a consortium partner in the Interreg Atlantic KET Med project funded by the EU, Bionow will be working to help SMEs to engage with centres of excellence in KETs across the Atlantic Area (Ireland, Portugal and western UK and France). The project will also embrace Industrie 4.0 – The Fourth Industrial Revolution – a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres.

The Partners are:

• NUI Galway – Lead Partner, Ireland
• INL – The Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Braga, Portugal
• ALPhANOV – Bordeaux, France
• STFC Daresbury – UK
• Fundación Ramón Domínguez and the Clinical Hospital at the University of Santiago, Spain
• Atlanpole Biotherapies – Nantes, France
• Bionow – UK

The project commenced on 1 November 2017 and the Partners met in Nantes, France on 14/15 November. The project runs over three years to end October 2020 and within this timeframe we will deliver world-class technical support to companies within a facilitated, transnational medical technology network. We will be approaching SMEs in the areas of biomaterials, diagnostics, regenerative medicine, devices, sensors and drug delivery to develop their capabilities and accelerate their products to market. Companies will be engaged in a progressively deeper manner with more in-depth assistance offered at each stage.
