I’m Chief Executive of Bionow having founded the business in 2011 to further represent the interests of the Northern biomedical cluster and enable Bionow members to be the most productive and competitive in the world. Having led the business through establishment I have overall responsibility for all aspects of Bionow and focus on our strategic aim to be the leading biomedical membership organisation in terms of reputation, service and impact. I am regularly invited to advise and comment on industry requirements and represent the Bionow membership both regionally and nationally. I am the Events Manager for Bionow, managing our varied calendar of events ranging from major conferences, smaller networking events to our annual awards dinner. I am responsible for coordinating all the technical and logistical elements required, ensuring attention to detail with delivering on the broader workflow message, effectively collaborating with internal peers to ensure each event runs smoothly.

As Membership Manager for the North East and Yorkshire I am responsible for the recruitment and development of Members within this geographical area. I work with Members to make the most of their Bionow membership through accessing business support services, identifying opportunities for collaboration, event attendance and to gain value through Bionow’s preferred partners. I support Bionow’s relationships with key stakeholders in the region which includes delivering services to our University Sponsors. I head up the Business Development function at Bionow working with the Membership Managers and the Bionow team to help Members increase their competitiveness. I manage the relationships, foster collaborations and promote our University Sponsors and Preferred Partners and work closely with many of our larger companies. I also lead on delivery of our Business Support services including our Member networking platform BionowB2B. I'm an AAT qualified accountant with over 14 years experience in various accountancy roles. I joined the Bionow team in November 2013 having worked previously for accountancy practices based in London, Leeds and Manchester. As the Financial Controller I am responsible for ensuring that the financial side of Bionow is running smoothly and efficiently and am the primary contact for any financial questions or queries.

As a Membership Manager for Bionow, it is my goal to support the further development of members within the network, helping them increase their competitiveness and ultimately get the most from their membership. I am currently working as the Events and Marketing Coordinator at Bionow. I am responsible for assisting and supporting Jesse, the Events Manager, when it comes to the planning, creating and executing of all the events held by Bionow or Bionow’s partners. I also provide support to the whole Bionow team when it comes to creating and implementing the strategic marketing, website changes and social media activities.

I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Biotechnology at the University of Manchester. I joined Bionow as part of the professional internship placement (PIP) which is a part of my doctoral training programme. During my placement I am actively involved in developing new relationships with companies, actively working with the membership team. I’m enthusiastic and driven in hopes of bringing fresh insight and passion to the life sciences industry.
