Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) are proud to be working in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Care, UK Biocentre and the University of Glasgow to help with the fight against COVID-19. Under the partnership UK Lighthouse Labs, MDC are responsible for running and managing the laboratory at the impressive Alderley Park site in Cheshire, which is the UK’s largest life science campus. Bioscience Leads are required to oversee lab-based teams from sample receipt, through RNA extraction to delivery of Q-PCR data. This includes the ability to problem solve PCR assays and supervise staff carrying out the lab activities. In addition, Bioscience leads will be required to manage the testing and introduction of new methodologies, as well as working with Quality Managers and Health and Safety Managers to ensure the highest lab standards.
