Time is running out to secure the best early talent...

1 in 5 young people leave school and don't go on to traditional further and higher education. Be the first to secure one of the 400,000 school leavers who want to engage with the world of work.

Our specialist apprenticeships help to quickly transfer knowledge to ambitious new recruits getting them up to speed and productive in the workplace sooner than you may think!

Tiro is a leading training provider for science and technology apprenticeships. We've been helping ingenious apprentices join ambitious businesses since 2005. We have a range of programmes to support growth within life science companies, and we are offering a one-time offer of free recruitment for Bionow Members!

Degree Apprenticeships:

  • Degree Laboratory Scientist (BSc)
  • Degree Materials Science Technologist (BSc)

Since 2005, Tiro has trained the future leaders of our scientific and technical workforce. But until now, few have progressed onto higher level apprenticeship programmes. Tiro has worked with Middlesex University to develop and deliver our brand-new degree apprenticeships. This combines Tiro’s nearly two decades of experience in work-based learning with the academic quality and rigour of one of the UK’s leading young universities. But that’s not all. Our new degree apprenticeships have been built with employers, for employers. Their content, structure, and delivery have been shaped by some of the country’s top employers in the Chemicals, Biosciences, and Environmental sectors.

Apprenticeship Programmes:

Level 3 Science Apprenticeships:

  • Level 3 Laboratory Technician
  • Level 3 Materials Testing Technician

The benefit of a cohort approach to Apprenticeships
We believe taking a cohort approach to your apprenticeships builds your talent pipeline, saves you time, improves retention, increases productivity and increases the diversity of your early talent. In our experience businesses that take a cohort of 4-8 apprentices have higher success in meeting their skills needs and retention strategies than those that only take one apprentice at a time.

Struggling with headcount?

Utilise our off-headcount model that'll allow you the financial flexibility of not having direct headcount.

  1. Investment required for one apprentice is the same as taking a cohort.
  2. Create a sense of belonging and increase diversity
  3. One recruitment round to place many roles
  4. 71% of apprentices retained after 3 years versus 50% of graduates
  5. No training costs if you are levy paying or 5% if non-levy paying
  6. Supercharge knowledge transfer and productivity with peer learning and group training
